We are restarting Barkham Church Book
Club and hoping you will join us. If you love reading then this group is for you. We meet every 2 or 3 months at someone's house to discuss the book we have just read and eat some yummy munchies. It is a great place to share our faith and learn together. We will be reading 4 books over the next year, a book about prayer, an autobiography, a book about the roles of men and women in the church and a fictional book. You can read all 4 or choose any that interests you. It is fine not to like a book and even not to finish it.
Our first book is:
Our first book is:
A Praying Life – Connecting with God in a Distracting World by PaulMiller
Written like an organized blog, A Praying Life is
an honest look at the difficulties of prayer, unanswered prayers, and successes
in prayer. Readers will appreciate Paul Miller’s down–to–earth approach and
practical nature. Parents will find his family–life experiences especially
helpful.
We will be meeting at Liz
Conaghan’s House at 8pm November 15th.
If you would like a copy of
the book we have some available at £7 so do let Anne – anne@thewhitefamilysite.org.uk
or Liz conaghan@waitrose.com know.
We are looking forward to chatting about this book soon.
